Itinerary days 1-2

All 70 something of us loaded the busses and hit the road at 10:00 pm Sunday. We got to Newark, NJ about 5pm Monday. Here's one of the first views of NYC. To cross in to the city, we took the Holland Tunnel.

And emerged in the Big Apple. Woo hoo.

We drove by Ground zero then headed for the hotel. A few teachers and I met up with a former student who is going to med school in the area. We went to dinner (real New York style pizza... Yum!) then walked with him to the train station. We passed through Times Square/Broadway and of course Grand Central station.

When we got back to the hotel, I stood outside for a while. I love watching busy cities pass by.
The people are interesting and you get a feel for the pace and attitude.

  1. I'm going to run out of adjectives! Each of these looks like a postcard to me.
